Where the Seed Was First Planted
Many years ago, before Malaki existed, Sulinda stepped into a charming clothing store in Robertson, lovingly curated by Corinne Ackermann.
The store was a celebration of style: a thoughtful blend of handpicked new pieces and beautiful items specially made for Corinne’s boutique.
There was something deeply inspiring about the way Corinne approached clothing; with care, creativity, and an instinct for what women would love.
Sulinda left, touched by the experience, never imagining that this quiet inspiration would one day form part of Malaki’s own story.

Paths That Cross Again
Time passed. Malaki took shape and began to flourish, becoming a haven for pre-loved beauty and second chances.
Then, most serendipitously, Sulinda and Corinne crossed paths once more. Corinne shared that she had closed her Robertson store after relocating with her family. Sulinda shared that Malaki had grown so much that her existing space simply couldn’t hold all the beautiful pieces that were finding their way to her.
Around the very same moment, Corinne had discovered a lovely retail space in Wellington — spacious, well-located, and full of potential.
The timing was perfect.
The conversation was gentle.
And the collaboration happened naturally.
A Partnership Rooted in Heart
Their decision to open a second Malaki store together was not only practical — it was deeply aligned with everything Malaki stands for: community, dignity, creativity, sustainability, and the power of encouraging one another.

In August 2025, the Malaki Wellington Store opened — with Corinne leading the way, bringing her eye for beauty, her warmth, and the spark that once inspired Sulinda in Robertson.
